The benefits of playing sports ✅

A lot of us don’t realise or remember the benefits of playing sports until after we’ve played!

Here’s a little reminder on all its positives, hopefully after reading this you’ll be so convinced that you’ll immediately book your next game on Sportas (trust us 😉) 💪

  • Reduce pressure and stress — Your mental health is important. Exercising is a natural way to loosen up and let go of stress. Modern life has plenty to get the old angst going, so getting out and active is a brilliant way of keeping that in check. If you’re a solo runner or cyclist, that’s all well and swell. If you’re a team sports enthusiast, or just want someone else to rally with, Sportas is equally geared towards reducing the hassle of making that happen. Less stress when organising sport. Less stress through playing sport!
  • Improve self-esteem (unless you’re trash and lose every week (just kidding, even that can be kind of fun)) — What are you aiming to achieve from playing sport? If you’re doing it for a social and a jolly, then you’ll automatically feel better stepping out with other folks. If you want to win, then finding players of a similar level, putting in a shift and challenging yourselves against strong opposition can help you achieve goals. Regardless, you’re bound to feel a bit of a boost afterwards!
  • Meet new people — Would be Sportas’ mantra if it wasn’t also the pillar of every dating app and social media platform ever made. The whole point is that you might not always be able to draw together a squad from your own friendship circles. Sportas steps in to give you a chance to broaden that circle. Meeting new people is exciting, and playing sport with them gives you a unique chance to bond over a shared experience. Your network is your leg dirt. Your net flirt? Your best work? Trying to find a sporting network analogy and falling short here. You get the point.
  • Have fun — I dare you.
  • Feel healthier — Believe it or not, your physical health is important. Clearly, sports can help you feel good in your body. There are a heap of hidden health benefits that we don’t need to go into. It’s not a science class. I’m not your teacher. You were given a body to move and shape and mould. Sport is a brilliant way of testing your limits and getting a good pump on.

So there’s a few things.

What’s not to like?

Literally.

That’s not rhetorical.

If you feel like there might be something not to like, please do get in touch with us, because we’d love to hear it. We won’t believe it, but we’ll give it the time of day.

Otherwise, precisely what are you waiting for? Sportas is here to make your life easier. Gain all the perks of social sports, with none of the stress of whipping a team together. Sign up. Get planning. Get playing.
